Badgers Holt Dartmoor
Badgers Holt is located in the heart of Dartmoor, on the banks of the river Dart.
Originally an old fishing lodge, it can trace its history back to the 18th Century. From the early 1900s onwards, Badgers Holt transitioned into a tearoom – a function it still holds to this day.
Since meeting Emma and Simon at Badgers Holt over 2 years ago, we have been working together to give this restaurant a new brand and identity. As my first client, they hold a special place for me - our ongoing collaboration incorporates social media, graphic design, photography and web design has been very successful.
We wanted to create a brand that reflected the beautiful surrounding countryside of Dartmoor and give the logo a fresh, updated feeling. The background image of Dartmoor on the logo was painted by Emma's father - I wanted to include this personal touch as it is a very family-focused place.
As well as doing the initial logo and brand design, there has been a lot of on-going design work including menu design, social media upkeep and website updates, flyer design, social media photography, and various adverts for magazines including Dart News, Devon Living, Devon & Cornwall Wedding, Western Times and Moorlinks.
It is great to be able to work on such a variety of projects for Badgers Holt, and now that Emma and Simon are branching out into weddings I look forward to this next year of business.
